Role Description

The Payroll Client Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Maryland, United States. This role is responsible for supporting clients with their payroll processing, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues related to pay calculations, tax with holdings, and compliance. The Payroll Client Advisor will guide clients through system usage, configuration, and best practices, ensuring data accuracy and timely payroll submissions. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing payroll reports, coordinating with internal teams to troubleshoot technical or account-related concerns, and documenting client interactions.

The role also involves educating clients on new features, promoting process improvements, and maintaining strong, professional relationships to enhance client satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications
  • Experience with payroll processing, payroll systems, and basic HR functions, including pay calculations, tax with holdings, and compliance.
  • Client service skills, such as clear communication, active listening, problem-solving, and the ability to manage client expectations professionally.
  • Technical aptitude with cloud-based or SaaS platforms, proficiency in standard office software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing), and comfort learning new tools.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple client accounts, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines accurately.
  • Attention to detail and analytical abilities to review reports, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Experience in payroll, HR, finance, or related fields; prior work with small or medium-sized businesses is beneficial.
  • Ability to work on-site in Maryland, United States, and collaborate effectively with teammates and cross-functional partners.
  • Relevant education such as an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, HR, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
