Overview
The City of Bowie is seeking experienced individuals with excellent employment histories for the position of Assistant Street Maintenance Superintendent.
This position serves as part of a management team that oversees municipal crews and external contractors to ensure the integrity and safety of roadways and other City infrastructure.
The incumbent will take part in managing asphalt paving, concrete masonry for curbs and sidewalks, and directing seasonal operations such as snow removal and leaf collection. Additional duties may include, but are not limited to assisting the Street Maintenance Superintendent in the oversight of street cleaning operations, storm drain (inlet) maintenance, parking lot construction, and the design and installation of traffic signage.
Minimum Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Five years of experience in construction‑related environments, including strong familiarity with asphalt and concrete work.
- Proven experience in planning, assigning, and supervising the work of crews of various skill and experience levels.
- Ability to understand and utilize basic mathematical formulas and equations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
