Hillis-Carnes Specialty Construction Group is actively seeking a CDL Driver/Construction Laborer and Geotechnical Drill Helper for our Woodbine, MD office. The position involves loading, transporting, and unloading drilling/construction equipment; assisting with general specialty geotechnical construction activities; operating drilling equipment; and supporting field drilling operations (hollow stem auger, casing advance, mud rotary, splitt spoon and shelby tube sampling, rock coring, and grout installation).
Responsibilities- Load, transport, and unload drilling and construction equipment.
- Assist in geotechnical construction activities, including soil nail/shotcrete, h‑pile, lagging, bracing, conventional underpinning, and deep foundations (micropiles, helical anchors).
- Support geotechnical drilling operations: hollow stem auger, casing advance, mud rotary, sampling, rock coring, and grout installation.
- Maintain safe working conditions and wear required health and safety equipment.
- Travel out of town for extended occasions when required.
- Lift heavy equipment and materials as needed.
- CDL Class A with a clean driving record.
- Must meet all pre‑employment screenings.
- Experience in operating drilling/construction equipment for loading and unloading.
- Reliable, motivated, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Good mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Physically fit, capable of working in all weather conditions.
- Willing to travel to job sites off‑site for extended periods.
