Job description Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate prekindergarten Teacher who is enthusiastic about early childhood education and is committed to fostering a creative, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early learning standards, lesson planning, and classroom management. This individual will play a vital role in guiding children in their early developmental stages, preparing them for kindergarten, and maintaining strong connections with parents.

• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Maryland Early Learning Standards.
• Create a positive, supportive, and safe classroom environment that promotes creativity, exploration, and social development.
• Prepare engaging lesson plans focused on literacy, math, science, and social-emotional development using the Kaplan Creative curriculum.
• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing observations to track student progress and individualize learning plans.
• Collaborate with assistant teachers to ensure continuity and high-quality instruction.
• Maintain effective communication with parents through progress reports, conferences, and Bright Wheel app.
• Ensure classroom cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Support children’s social and emotional growth, fostering independence and a love for learning.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (required).
• Maryland State Teaching Certification for Early Childhood Education (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Pre Kindergarten teacher or in a similar early childhood education setting.
• Strong understanding of Maryland Early Learning Standards and best practices in early childhood education.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with the Kaplan Creative curriculum or similar programs is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with parents, staff, and administrators.
