Primary PurposeThe Parent Coordinator serves as the liaison between school, home, and the community to foster a positive, collaborative ecosystem. The Parent Coordinator will act as a bridge builder: connecting families to the school’s academic mission and connecting community partners to the campus’s STEM initiatives. The position also manages involvement of parents on campus and helps maintain documentation of compliance. The position is supplemental to the general education program of the district.

Education/Certification
High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate

- Survey parents to determine needs and assess effectiveness of the Parent Family Engagement (PFE) program.
- Collaborate with school leadership and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate parent, family, and community stakeholders are involved in all PFE‑related decision‑making for the school.
- Provide PFE training, tips, strategies, and ideas to staff and families.
- With the guidance of the principal and campus webmaster, develop, maintain, and publish PFE materials, activities, and communications including, but not limited to:
- Calendar of events
- Newsletters
- Electronic media
- Provide information to families regarding public and private resources available to meet family needs.
- Make personal contact and home visits related to support of the Title I program and academic achievement.
- Assist the Principal to facilitate Title I Campus Parent Advisory Committee (CPAC) meetings at least once each quarter (October, January, April, June).
- Coordinate the annual revision and distribution of the campus’ Parent Family Compact.
- Coordinate the annual revision and distribution of the campus’ Parent Family Engagement Policy.
- Represent campus on the Title I District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) and secure campus parent(s) to participate.
- Facilitate distribution and collection of Title I Parent Surveys; compile results; and assist campus in developing and/or adjusting action plans as needed.
- Present a multimedia overview of the campus’ Title I accomplishments at the District Parent Advisory Council annual meeting.
- Serve as a communication liaison between the Office of Federal Programs and the campus.
- Assist the campus in maintaining current and correct documentation as required by the Office of Federal Programs, the Texas Education Agency, and ESSA, such as the Title I inventory and semi‑annual employee certifications.
- Maintain compliance documentation to show evidence of implementation of the requirements noted in ESSA, Section 1116.
