GISD Kindergarten Aide

Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kindergarten Aide to join our team at Bowie Elementary School. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education, a strong commitment to fostering a nurturing environment for our students, and the ability to work collaboratively with our teaching staff.

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
• Provide support in managing classroom activities and ensuring a safe and clean environment for the students.
• Assist in monitoring students during non‑classroom times including meals, recess, and nap times.
• Help in preparing classroom materials and setting up educational activities.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher in observing, recording, and assessing each student’s growth and development.
• Participate in parent‑teacher meetings and communicate effectively with parents about their child’s progress.
• Adhere to school policies and procedures, including safety and hygiene guidelines.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Patience and a positive attitude towards working with young children.
• Ability to handle classroom and student‑related challenges with sensitivity and professionalism.

While not mandatory, certifications in early childhood education, child development, or a related field will be highly regarded. First aid certification is also a plus.
