SUMMARYIn Summer 2026, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) will offer a wide range of summer programs for students in grades 6 – 12. The programs give participants a brief introduction to a hands‑on, project‑based college education. Sessions last one to five weeks and include STEM courses such as biomedical engineering, computer science, data science, mechanical engineering, physics, robotics, as well as business and humanities courses.

The Office of Pre‑Collegiate Outreach Programs seeks part‑time instructors for our summer programs. Positions are created to supply an applicant pool for the office and will be filled on an as‑needed basis. Depending on the program(s) you wish to teach, your start date will be either June 22, July 6, July 13, July 20, or July 27. All positions are temporary for the 2026 summer programs only.
All applicants must possess excellent interpersonal skills, good judgement, and the ability to collaborate as part of a team. A successful instructor will also exhibit a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and an interest in working with students and staff from diverse backgrounds. Qualified applicants will be contacted; applications will remain in the pool until the posting closes.
- Middle school, high school or college teacher who specializes in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, humanities, and/or business.
- Master's degree required.
- Conditional offer pending a criminal background check.
$2,500 – $6,000 per week or session, depending on program.
