Overview

Aether Aerospace is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead advanced aircraft capabilities and systems development. The successful candidate will serve as the primary interface between engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and executive leadership while driving the development of next-generation aircraft systems, subsystems, and technologies. This role is responsible for coordinating cross‑functional engineering teams, managing technical schedules, controlling budgets, mitigating risks, and ensuring successful achievement of program objectives throughout the product lifecycle.

The Project Manager will be the single point of contact for all aspects of assigned projects and will develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. The manager will conduct project meetings, track and analyze progress, ensure adherence to quality standards, review deliverables, and provide technical and analytical guidance to the project team. They will recommend and take action to direct analysis, solutions, and plans to resolve any emerging challenges.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Lead advanced aircraft system development projects from concept through certification, production transition, and deployment
  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules, project plans, budgets, and resource forecasts
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including systems engineering, software, hardware, manufacturing, test, and certification
  • Establish project milestones, technical performance measures, and program success criteria
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to address schedule, cost, or technical performance issues
  • Manage program risks, opportunities, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Facilitate technical reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and program status reviews
  • Coordinate customer requirements, stakeholder expectations, and contractual deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace standards, regulatory requirements, and company processes
  • Manage supplier performance and support subcontractor integration activities
  • Prepare executive‑level briefings and communicate project status to leadership and customers
  • Identify opportunities for growth and develop and execute capture strategies
  • Support proposal development, project estimating, and strategic planning activities
Required Qualifications
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical, or business discipline
  • 10+ years’ experience leading cross‑functional teams or project/program management experience in technical development or execution efforts
  • Military aviation experience as a Pilot, Weapons System Officer/Navigator/Electronic Warfare Officer
  • Experience working in a Department of War environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining schedules, and commitment to meeting delivery schedules
  • Strong knowledge of development life cycles, systems engineering processes, and product development methodologies
  • Experience developing and maintaining project schedules using tools such as Microsoft Project
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced development environment
  • Experience with customer interfacing and developing customer relationships

Aether Aerospace is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employees. The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
