The candidate for this position will be part of the Design Engineering team. In this role, the successful candidate will create design packages for both standard products and for custom projects. This position will be 100% in-office in Frederick, MD.
Responsibilities- Design and draw mechanical components for server rack assemblies using Siemens NX
- Create and release BOMs for air traffic control systems
- Produce drawings for internal and external manufacturing
- Produce assembly drawings and electrical diagrams for production floor
- Interpret and present designs using neat, accurate, and well-planned engineering drawing methods
- Work closely with systems engineering, planning, manufacturing engineering, and technicians
- Work independently on multiple projects and tasks concurrently
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of engineering experience
- 3D modeling experience, preferably Siemens NX, others acceptable
- Working knowledge of MS Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
- Ability to understand other engineering disciplines’ needs and translate to mechanical requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Preferred but not required – experience designing products to meet FAA, MIL, or GOV specs
- Preferred but not required – knowledge of GD&T
- Preferred but not required – Knowledge of SAP
- Preferred but not required – Experience working with and designing for PDM/PLM release
- Preferred but not required – Experience using Microsoft Visio
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%
- In order to be considered, candidates must reside in the US, and be a US citizen capable of receiving a US Government security clearance.
The total compensation for this position is $66K-$95K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
