Position Overview

Associate Mechanical Systems Flight Test Engineer – Boeing Defense, Space & Security.

Location:

Patuxent River, MD. The role focuses on flight test planning, execution, and analysis for the MQ-25 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

• Support development and execution of detailed flight test plans, including objectives, methodologies, and safety protocols for the MQ-25 program.
• Participate in the execution of flight tests and serve as the on‑ground liaison for the mechanical systems team.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues during flight testing and coordinate with the St.Louis systems team to resolve performance issues.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Materials Sciences) or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required); interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post‑start required.

• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
• Experience with one or more of the following systems: fuels, hydraulics, environmental, landing gear & arresting, flight actuation, and other mechanical systems.
• Experience in flight test planning and execution.

• Ability to travel up to 20% domestically as needed.
• Must meet U.S. export control compliance as a “U.S. Person” (U.S. Citizen, National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
• Position is not safety‑sensitive; no visa sponsorship provided.

• Pay range: $90,950 – $123,050, based on experience and qualifications.
