Senior Test & Evaluation Lab Tech
The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Senior Test & Evaluation Lab Tech to join our team in Patuxent River, MD. This position will provide test and evaluation technician support in either a lab or an aircraft production environment while working alongside production operations personnel.
Position Responsibilities- Plan, conduct and document complex tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Design, fabricate, build and analyze test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies.
- Coordinate test requirements, determine test methods and capabilities.
- Conduct system test preparations by guiding system integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout and teardown.
- Perform test article configuration control.
- Conduct complex tests, analyze data and document results; participate in test readiness reviews.
- Identify and resolve test anomalies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex laboratory and test‑related problems.
- Coordinate test laboratory activities, maintenance and repairs, and personnel training.
- Assist government agencies, safety and hazardous materials teams in emergencies.
- Coach and train others.
- Work under minimal direction.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; final U.S. Secret Clearance required post‑start.
- Associate’s degree or higher, a technical certificate or degree, or 4 or more years of equivalent technical experience.
- Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses or any variety of electrical components and associated equipment.
- Experience interpreting electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and definitions.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- 3+ years of strain gaging experience.
- Experience installing aircraft modifications including fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components or avionics boxes.
- Experience with aerospace assembly and/or electrical fabrication.
- Experience leading in a lab environment ensuring capability and readiness.
- Must obtain U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required; interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start required.
- Must satisfy the company’s Conflict of Interest assessment.
- Drug‑free workplace; subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria are met.
- No visa sponsorship; U.S. person required for export control compliance.
Competitive base pay with variable compensation opportunities. Eligible employees may enroll in a variety of benefit programs, including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid and unpaid time away from work. Pay range: $80,750–$109,250.
