Lead Systems Engineer – Defence Space Systems | Active Secret Clearance Required

I'm supporting an exciting commercial space organisation that's expanding its defence capability and is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to bridge advanced satellite technology with government and defence missions.

This is a highly visible role working directly with government customers and internal engineering teams to develop next-generation defence space solutions.

• Lead systems engineering across defence programmes from concept through verification.
• Translate mission requirements into system and subsystem specifications.
• Lead architecture development, CONOPS, requirements management and integration activities.
• Act as the technical interface with government customers and defence partners.
• Support design reviews, trade studies and technical risk management.
• Develop systems engineering artefacts including ICDs, verification plans and traceability matrices.
• Support proposals and new business opportunities.
• Mentor systems engineering team members.

• 8+ years of Systems Engineering experience.
• 4+ years supporting DoD or defence programmes.
• Active U.S. Secret Clearance (TS/SCI eligibility highly desirable).
• Experience working with complex RF, communications, aerospace or defence systems.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering processes and requirements management.

Experience supporting ISR, C2, PNT, satellite communications or space systems would be particularly valuable.
