Salary: $75,000 - $80,000

Job Description

Reporting to the Associate Director of Business and Auxiliary Services, the Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of the university’s Asset Management, Central Receiving, and Mail Services units. The role ensures accurate recording, tracking, and disposition of school property; efficient receipt and distribution of goods; and timely, secure handling of all mail and packages, along with the systems that support these operations.

Responsibilities
  • Asset Management
    • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, systems and accounting methods for property and equipment recordings.
    • Prepare physical inventory reports, year‑end activity reports and other special reports.
    • Identify, tag and record new capital and sensitive property acquisitions; update records for corrections and disposals.
    • Plan and supervise the physical inventory cycle, including schedule, coordination and report preparation.
    • Maintain asset management software, produce specialized reports, and serve as initial point of contact for asset‑related activities.
  • Central Receiving
    • Manage all Central Receiving operations: receipt, inspection, verification, storage, and distribution of shipments.
    • Ensure timely processing of packages and categorize them per campus needs.
    • Coordinate daily delivery assignments and implement efficient warehouse organization (e.g., 5S).
  • Mailroom Services
    • Oversee all incoming and outgoing mail, including UPS/USPS pickups and deliveries.
    • Sort, distribute, and process mail and parcels to departments.
    • Process monthly chargebacks for departmental mail services and document daily package receipts.
    • Handle special mailings and urgent internal deliveries promptly.
  • Supervision and Leadership
    • Supervise, train, and develop staff across all units, enforce SOPs and safety standards.
    • Monitor KPIs, lead process improvements, determine work priorities, and review performance.
    • Facilitate daily stand‑up meetings, manage expenses and purchase requisitions.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state and university safety policies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and at least 5 years of related experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of management or supervisory experience in asset management, warehouse operations, or mailroom services, preferably within higher education.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Extensive experience with property inventory methods and asset management best practices.
  • Knowledge of warehouse KPIs, safety standards and WMS platforms.
  • Experience with People Soft Asset Management software, Workday, and mail chargeback systems.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team‑development skills.
  • Excellent communication, decision‑making, planning and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds, push, pull, squat, bend and reach; climb stairs if applicable.
