About the PositionWe are seeking an experienced Plant Manager with a background in cabinetry, furniture, assembly, or a related manufacturing environment to oversee our Maryland plant operations. Experience in cabinetry is preferred, but strong candidates from related manufacturing industries are encouraged to apply. We will relocate and provide assistance in moving to Maryland.
The Plant Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our facility, including cabinet assembly, production, warehouse operations, quality, safety, scheduling, and employee performance.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can lead teams, improve processes, maintain accountability, and drive operational efficiency. Experience in cabinetry, woodworking, millwork, furniture, assembly, or a related industry is preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily plant operations, including cabinet assembly, production, and warehouse activities
- Lead, coach, and develop production employees, supervisors, and warehouse personnel
- Establish and monitor production goals, KPIs, and performance metrics
- Ensure production schedules and customer deadlines are consistently met
- Monitor product quality and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and operational issues
- Improve workflow, productivity, and overall plant performance
- Manage labor, materials, equipment, and other operational resources effectively
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Ensure employees follow company safety policies and procedures
- Hold supervisors and employees accountable for performance, attendance, quality, and productivity
- Partner with company leadership on staffing, employee development, and performance management
- Assist with hiring, training, onboarding, and development of employees
- Monitor equipment and facility needs and coordinate maintenance as needed
- Analyze operational results and develop action plans for improvement
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, quality, safety, and continuous improvement
- 5+ years of progressive experience in plant management, manufacturing, production, assembly, or operations management
- Experience in cabinetry, woodworking, millwork, furniture, assembly, or a related manufacturing environment preferred
- Proven experience leading and developing teams
- Experience managing supervisors and/or multiple departments
- Strong understanding of production processes, workflow, quality, and workplace safety
- Experience using KPIs and operational data to monitor and improve performance
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred but not required based on experience
