We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Unit Manager with Infection Control and Education expertise to join our team at Dennett Rehab Center, a beautiful 99-bed skilled nursing facility located in Oakland, Maryland. Job Summary

As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the unit, including managing staff, coordinating patient care, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Your clinical expertise as an infection control nurse will be utilized to provide high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise nursing staff, including LPNs, RNs, and CNAs, to ensure provision of high-quality patient care
  • Assist with new admissions, re-admissions, and transfers of patients to different rooms within the facility
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
  • Conduct infection control assessments.
  • Provide Education to nursing staff
  • Monitor and report patient progress, identifying changes in condition or behavior
  • Participate in clinical start-up and department head stand-up meetings
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure seamless transitions and positive outcomes
Requirements
  • Licensed RN in good standing and currently licensed by the State of Maryland or Multistate License
  • Minimum one year of experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing
  • Valid CPR Certification
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment
