Position: Full Time Scan Coordinator

SUMMARY

Primary responsibility is to take excellent care of our customers by satisfying each customer’s needs and exceeding their expectations. This requires maintaining price file, shelf tag accuracy, and the signs for the entire store.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service – Initiate interaction with customers on the sales floor, ask questions about their shopping needs, provide necessary information, and follow through on requests. Never be rude to a customer under any circumstance. Make eye contact, smile, and speak to customers in a genuine, clear, and enthusiastic manner. Ask if they found everything they were looking for and strive to provide assistance whenever possible.

Appearance and Punctuality – Reflect an appropriate business image through grooming, attire, and personal cleanliness. Be reliable and punctual by reporting for work on time. Notify the supervisor or manager‑on‑duty two (2) hours in advance if absent or late.

Store Operations – Maintain price accuracy, shelf tag accuracy, and sign program for the entire store according to company standards. Perform price file maintenance, manual file updates, new load procedures, aisle scans, and MSI price checks using appropriate equipment. Order, create, and change shelf tags and signs as needed. Maintain history of scan errors and temporary price reductions. Ensure that all shelf tags and sign changes are made in every department.

Compliance and Safety – Comply with and enforce state and local ABC laws and Department of Agriculture regulations. Follow all safety regulations, report accidents and hazards, record them in the designated log, and handle chemicals according to the Hazard Communication Program Manual.

Support to Associates – Assist with unloading trucks, checking deliveries, taking inventory, restocking and organizing display merchandisers and coolers, and other duties as assigned. Balance taking direction with taking initiative to accomplish the duties of the entire shift.

Communicate in English with customers and fellow associates regarding requests, current sales promotions, marketing campaigns, and essential products. When a customer asks where a product is located, take the customer to the product.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience – High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates must be at least 18 years of age.

Skills – Exceptional interpersonal skills; willingness to complete required training and work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales. Ability to read, understand, and respond to simple instructions; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations. Mathematical ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and use units of American money and weight measurement.

Reasoning ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.

Certificates – Completion of company training: new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, scanning coordinator technical skills training, and scanning coordinator certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The duties require frequent lifting and/or moving up to 34 lbs, intermittent lifting up to 60 lbs, and reaching from 6 to 72 inches. The associate must stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally climb or balance. Adequate vision for close work, color, and depth perception is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Occasional exposure to wet, hot, or cold conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually moderate.
