The Work

This position is located in Hanover, MD. As a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), you’ll safeguard the Sensitive Compartmented Information and war fighting capabilities our citizens and the world depend upon to protect U.S. and global interests. Here, you’ll work alongside other security experts, government civilians and military members to support their military operational objectives by providing them with a safe and secure operating environment.

In this fast‑paced, real‑world environment, you’ll draw on all your experience and education as well as the resources of Lockheed Martin to keep these exquisite capabilities and intelligence protected.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a Contractor Special Security Officer.
  • Perform administrative security functions, organizing and filing all administrative program security paperwork to remain inspection‑ready and compliant with USG regulations.
  • Conduct self‑inspections and manage preparations for and representation of security inspections and audits by government security personnel.
  • Assist the Security Team with additional security support as required by the RMS Advanced Programs Manager and the local Customer.
  • Administer the SCI Nomination Process by processing, logging, and preparing incoming and outgoing SCI Nomination packages.
  • Conduct annual SETA requirements in conjunction with the programs; provide security indoctrination, debriefings, pre/post travel briefings and annual refresher briefings as necessary.
  • Maintain classified document and media control logs tracking documents in transition.
Who We Are

RMS Program Security is eager for program security professionals. In support of our customers, members of the team are responsible for providing all aspects of security support services such as security management, personnel security (PERSEC), physical security (PHYSEC), security education and training (SETA), access control, media control, construction security management, and must have a subject matter expert (SME) level of understanding of industrial security regulations and procedures, including experience administering provisions of 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM, DOD 5105.21 SCI Security Manuals, and DOD 5205.07 SAP Security Manuals.

Basic

Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with full‑scope polygraph and the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industrial security regulations and procedures, including experience administering provisions of 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM; DOD 5105.21 SCI Security Manuals; and/or DOD 5205.07 SAP Security Manuals.
  • Team‑oriented with the ability to work independently and multi‑task.
  • Minimum five years of industrial security experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with tact and diplomacy.
Desired Skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DoD 5105.21; ICD 705; 32 CFR Part 117; and other DoD policy and regulations.
  • Knowledge of advanced programs security requirements, operations security (OPSEC), and program protection plans.
  • Experience as a Top Secret Control Officer (TSCO) and/or media custodian.
  • ICD 705 construction certification.
  • Successful completion of the Facility Security Officer Certification, the Contractor Special Security Officer Course, or the CDSE SAP Mid‑Level Management Course; prerequisites preferred or must be able to complete within one year of employment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and customer interface skills.
  • Security Clearance

    This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.

    Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Polygraph.

    Work Schedule

    9×80 schedule with every other Friday off.
