Company Description The Country Club at Woodmore is a private club located within the gated Woodmore community and features one of the Middle Atlantic’s top-rated golf courses. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the 18-hole course offers rolling fairways, challenging greens, and scenic views, making it a premier destination for golf enthusiasts. Recognized among the best golf courses in Maryland, it has a long-standing reputation as one of the area’s most challenging and respected venues.

With nearly 7,100 yards from the championship tees, the course regularly hosts major golf association events, including the Melwood Prince George’s County Open, part of the Nationwide PGA Tour.

Role Description The Golf Course Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in Bowie, MD, responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing all golf course maintenance equipment. This includes performing routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and small engines to ensure equipment safety and reliability. The role involves ordering and managing parts and supplies, maintaining accurate service records, and collaborating closely with the golf course superintendent and maintenance team to schedule repairs with minimal disruption to course operations.

The Golf Course Mechanic also helps ensure equipment is set up and adjusted properly for daily play conditions and major events, while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with maintenance and repair of small engines, turf equipment, tractors, and utility vehicles.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, welding, and basic fabrication.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Understanding of golf course operations and equipment set-up for turf height, cutting quality, and safety.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift moderate weights, work outdoors as needed, and adhere to safety standards and procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanics or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a golf course, turf, or agricultural equipment mechanic is highly beneficial.
