Full Stack Software Engineer; Partial Telework

Job Description

Glia Cell is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer for a full‑time position on one of our subcontracts to support a U.S. Government customer. The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission‑related software and systems for a large government contract.

• Possess an active or re‑installable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance. (This position requires in‑scope poly, within 7 years).
• U.S. Citizenship.
• 7+ years Software Engineering experience and a BS degree in Computer Science or related.
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Works well independently as well as in a team.
• Strong communication skills.

• Seeking a strong full‑stack software developer with functional UI experience but primarily focused on backend web services and servers.
• Experience with open‑source integrations would be great and any experience with open‑source tools is required — e.g. AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, Rancher, Tomcat, Spring, JMS and AWS.
• Strong communication skills are needed.
• Tech stack areas of experience/understanding:
  • Critical:
    Java threading, Spring Boot, JavaScript, JMS, Mongo
    
    DB, AWS, Amazon RDS, REST, Docker, Kubernetes, Elastic Search, Cockroach DB or other RDBMS at similar scale, COOP, large‑scale distributed systems with high availability.
  • Desired:
    Kibana, Alfresco, Content Management tools, Node, Svelt, React, Angular, Confluence, Jira, Maven, Git.

Annapolis Junction, Maryland (Partial telework of 16 hours per week is expected). Telework is granted after an acclimation period and may be removed at any time.

$115,000 to $190,000, with sign‑on bonus eligible. Salary based on position, level, skills, professional experience, relevant education and certifications.
