The Senior Accountant is responsible for daily accounting processes, while resolving any accounting or financial problems as they arise, as well as month end reconciliations, postings, etc. The ideal candidate for this role is an independent worker, with a team player mindset, enthusiastic and energetic approach. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

Key Responsibilities and Attributes:
  • Independently resolves accounting and financial problems and/or issues.
  • Ensures complete and up-to-date operating procedures for all functions related to their position.
  • Reviews all receipts and disbursements, ascertains correct account distribution and ensuring all support documentation is accurate and in order.
  • Prepare, record, and process accounts receivable and cash receipts.
  • Files all daily work as appropriate.
  • Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner.
  • Researches and resolves reporting differences.
  • Fixed asset, prepaids, revenue, accrual accounting measures, etc.
  • Works with promotion coordinators to resolve any promotion differences, billing disputes, or payment issues.
  • Responsible for certain accounts payable and accounts receivable duties including but not limited to processing of vendor invoices, client invoices, payments to vendors, collections
  • Independently completes month-end closing procedures including general ledger entries, reconciliations, reporting and commentary
  • Assist controller with quarterly tax filings, commissions and bonuses.
  • Assist controller with annual budgeting, accruals, audits and reconciliations.
  • Adapt to changing business needs and take on new responsibilities as the role evolves

  • College degree required, major in Accounting or Finance preferred. ~5 years A/R and A/P experience preferred. Demonstrated communication and organization skills, and computer literacy required. Hands-on experience with accounting systems required
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to mentor, grow and work harmoniously as part of a larger team
  • Ability to do intermediate-level math (calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages)
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Effectively utilizes staff including delegating as appropriate
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel. Typing skills should be a minimum of 55 wpm
