Assistant Controller

We're hiring an Assistant Controller to support our accounting operations as we continue to scale across multiple locations. This role is ideal for someone who understands the financial nuances of multi-unit, franchise, or location-based businesses.

The Opportunity

You'll work closely with the Controller to manage core accounting functions, with particular focus on the unique reporting and operational needs of a multi-location retail/restaurant business.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end and year-end close process across multiple locations/units
• Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Review location-level financial data for accuracy and consistency
• Support franchise or multi-unit reporting, royalty calculations, and related reconciliations, as applicable
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting at both the corporate and unit level
• Help maintain internal controls across accounting processes
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Partner with Operations and location leadership to resolve accounting questions
• Assist in mentoring and reviewing the work of accounting staff

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with in retail, restaurant, or other franchise/multi-unit business strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes
• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Strong organizational skills and comfort managing high transaction volume
