Job Summary

Joining our team as the Space Utilization Coordinator means becoming part of a community of exceptional individuals like yourself. As the Space Utilization Coordinator you are responsible for identifying and reserving appropriate meeting space for all conference center requests with a focus on maximizing utilization. You will perform audits of event space reservations to identify conflicts, improve utilization of conference center managed space and ensure effective use of function space. The goal is for the right size room to be booked, with the necessary equipment and setup, while allowing time for room flips.

Works with Planners to gather information necessary for large events and projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year of experience in a conference center or corporate environment preferred. Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

Language

Skills:

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and employee handbook. Ability to communicate in a pleasant and professional manner with high-level clients, other service providers and support staff. Responsible for effectively meeting the changing demands of internal clients.

Technology

Skills:

Competent in Google Suite and strong general computer skills. Previous experience with an event reservations system such as EMS or Delphi.

Reasoning Ability: The ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and juggling many tasks simultaneously, while constantly interacting with visitors in a public environment.

Self-confidence, willingness to learn, and feeling comfortable with change and coordinating change. Is empowered to make decisions, guide behavior and escalated issues appropriately. Superior problem‑solving skills.
