Safety Manager – Mechanical Construction
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join a growing mechanical construction contractor delivering large-scale projects across data centers, healthcare, commercial, industrial, and mission-critical markets.
This individual will be responsible for driving a proactive safety culture across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with company standards, OSHA regulations, and client-specific requirements while partnering closely with operations, project management, and field teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.
- Conduct regular jobsite audits, inspections, and safety assessments.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Facilitate site orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety education.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, local, state, and client-specific safety requirements.
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and provide coaching where required.
- Maintain safety documentation, reporting, and regulatory records.
- Partner with project teams to identify and mitigate project-specific risks.
- Support preconstruction and planning efforts by reviewing safety requirements and site logistics.
Requirements
- 5+ years of construction safety experience, preferably within mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, piping, or MEP construction.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Experience supporting large-scale commercial, healthcare, industrial, mission-critical, or data center projects preferred.
- Proven ability to influence field teams and build strong working relationships.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- CHST, CSP, ASP, OHST, or equivalent safety certification.
- OSHA 500/510 certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience working for a mechanical contractor or MEP subcontractor.
