Safety Manager – Mechanical Construction

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join a growing mechanical construction contractor delivering large-scale projects across data centers, healthcare, commercial, industrial, and mission-critical markets.

This individual will be responsible for driving a proactive safety culture across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with company standards, OSHA regulations, and client-specific requirements while partnering closely with operations, project management, and field teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.
  • Conduct regular jobsite audits, inspections, and safety assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Facilitate site orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety education.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, local, state, and client-specific safety requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractor safety performance and provide coaching where required.
  • Maintain safety documentation, reporting, and regulatory records.
  • Partner with project teams to identify and mitigate project-specific risks.
  • Support preconstruction and planning efforts by reviewing safety requirements and site logistics.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of construction safety experience, preferably within mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, piping, or MEP construction.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
  • Experience supporting large-scale commercial, healthcare, industrial, mission-critical, or data center projects preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence field teams and build strong working relationships.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CHST, CSP, ASP, OHST, or equivalent safety certification.
  • OSHA 500/510 certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Experience working for a mechanical contractor or MEP subcontractor.
