Position: ECE Instructional Assistant MSD - Mill Creek Elementary School (2026-2027) - Start Time 7:30

1A Grade 4 (Attached) Working Calendar: 187 Days / 7 Hours

Salary Range: $18.27/hr – $20.07/hr
Critical Need Stipend $3.50/hr and ECE Instructional Assistant Stipend $1.00/hr

Exceptional Child Education (ECE) programs are designed to meet the needs of students whose approach to learning differs from that of their peers. The district is committed to providing high‑quality education for students with disabilities. A variety of programs, techniques, methods, and materials are available and utilized for individualized instruction. ECE programs serve students with disabilities across Comprehensive and special education facilities/agencies.

Assignments may include students with Moderate to Severe Disabilities (MSD), Mild Mental Disabilities (MMD), Other Health Impairments (OHI), Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (EBD), Autism (AUT), Visual Impairment (VI), Hearing Impairment (HI), Learning Disabilities (LD), Social Communication or combinations thereof. Assignment or ECE designation can change during a school year based on student and classroom needs or between school years when ECE allocations are reviewed.

SCOPE

OF RESPONSIBILITIES

All responsibilities are supportive. Assist in implementing each student’s Individual Education Plan. Help establish and maintain a pleasant, safe, and structured learning environment. Display willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Passing score on the KPA (Kentucky Para educator Exam) or 48 college semester hours.
  • Willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.
  • Physical ability and willingness to assist with physical needs of students such as positioning, toileting, and lifting.
  • Willingness to attend district ECE in‑service for professional growth.
