1A Grade 4 (Attached). Working Calendar: 187 Days / 7 Hours. Salary Range: $18.27/hr - $20.07/hr critical Need Stipend $3.50/hr & ECE Instructional Assistant Stipend $1.00/hr.
Exceptional Child Education programs are designed to meet the needs of students whose approach to learning is different from that of their peers. The school District is committed to providing a high‑quality education for students with disabilities. A variety of programs, techniques, methods, and materials are available and utilized for individualized instruction. ECE programs serve students with moderate to severe disabilities, mild mental disabilities, other health impairments, emotional‑behavioral disabilities, autism, visual or hearing impairments, learning disabilities, social communication or a combination of each area.
Assignment changes may occur during or between school years when ECE allocations are reviewed.
- Assist in implementing each student's Individual Education Plan.
- Help establish and maintain a pleasant, safe, and structured learning environment.
- Display willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.
- Provide support to classroom teachers and staff to meet students' needs.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Passing score on the Kentucky Para educator Exam or 48 college semester hours.
- Willingness and aptitude to work with students with disabilities.
- Physical ability and willingness to assist with physical needs of students such as positioning, toileting, and lifting.
- Willingness to attend district ECE in-service for professional growth.
- Must pass Kentucky Para educator Assessment Exam if highest education is High School or GED.
