Educational Opportunities Coordinator
Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational opportunities for MCH team members, specializing in professional development for all team members in assigned departments. Demonstrates excellence in educational practice through systematic assessment practice gaps and learning needs of team members, analysis of relevant data/evidence, contemporary curricular design, and evaluation of outcomes in terms of learning achievement.
Minimum QualificationsWork Experience:
Three years of experience as a staff nurse with demonstrated leadership skills required.
Education:
Graduate of a school of nursing required. Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field (OR) equivalent educator experience required. Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
Certifications/Licensure:
Kentucky RN license (OR) RN license in a State recognized by the Kentucky Nurse Licensure Compact Act required effective June 1, 2007.

- Works with team members and other members of the leadership team to develop, implement and evaluate educational programming that promotes excellence in evidence-based practice and quality performance. Coordinates and implements clinical education programs consistent with the needs and requirements within one's clinical area of responsibility.
- Demonstrates excellence in educational practice through systematic assessment of practice gaps and learning needs, analysis of relevant data/evidence, contemporary curricular design congruent with educational standards and benchmarks of excellence, implementation of teaching/learning methods consistent with instructional aims and learner needs, and evaluation and measurement of outcomes in terms of learner achievement.
- Applies competency-based approaches to nursing education and development to support lifelong learning. Coaches and evaluates clinical/critical thinking skills within all aspects of practice including compliance with regulatory standards, evidence-based practice, policies and procedures and professional accountability.
- Applies developmental principles (novice-to-expert) to the design and implementation of educational programming and uses valid and reliable methods to evaluate learner competency and learning outcomes.
- Creates and supports a learning environment through collaboration with schools of nursing, outside agencies and other departments to ensure mutual benefits for educational purposes.
- Applies performance improvement principles in the process of continuously enhancing educational programming to improve outcomes.
