Senior Engineering Lead – Water & Wastewater

Overview

A multidisciplinary engineering and consulting organization is seeking a Senior Engineering Lead specializing in water and wastewater systems. This role is focused on delivering complex infrastructure solutions that support reliable water supply, effective wastewater management, and long-term environmental sustainability.

As a senior leader within the engineering team, you will guide technical design efforts, oversee project delivery, and provide mentorship to developing engineers while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and performance across all work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering design for water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Oversee development of treatment systems, distribution networks, and collection systems
  • Provide technical leadership on pumping stations, storage facilities, and related infrastructure
  • Review and guide hydraulic and process modeling work
  • Ensure technical accuracy, quality control, and compliance with standards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and project stakeholders
  • Support project planning, execution, and technical delivery
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineering staff
  • Contribute to proposals, technical documentation, and project strategy
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred
  • Strong experience in water and wastewater infrastructure design and delivery
  • Knowledge of hydraulic modeling and/or process modeling tools preferred
  • Proven leadership experience in engineering projects or teams
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Experience in mentoring or technical team development is an advantage
