Responsibilities- Provide technical support to the management team by conducting process and statistical analysis of plant manufacturing performance.
- Evaluate new and existing equipment to determine process and equipment capability using statistical methods.
- Analyze data to allocate resources for plant equipment maintenance and repair scheduling.
- Participate in customer and supplier audits, providing performance analysis and supporting documentation.
- Manage the plant Statistical Process Control (SPC) training program for both salaried and hourly personnel.
- Lead or participate in process improvement events such as Kaizen, SMED, Six Sigma, and Lean projects.
- Conduct training in basic SPC principles, statistical problem-solving techniques, and the use of statistical software packages.
- Coach hourly personnel on daily SPC application and improve gauge R&R accuracy and stability.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality network systems, SOPs, and gauge maintenance programs.
- Support corporate Tier Quality engineers with quality network installation and maintenance.
- Facilitate team meetings, manage process certification efforts, and serve as QA Manager during absences when required.
- Provide quality support, documentation control, and plant/process performance audits.
- Act as a backup Quality Manager, ensuring compliance with SQF and HACCP systems, and coordinate with certification bodies.
- Generate monthly reports detailing plant activities, quality performance, and safety initiatives.
- Participate in the safety committee and promote a robust food safety and safety culture.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of three years of quality or engineering experience, with at least one year in a manufacturing environment.
- Analytical skills for objective data evaluation and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as JMP, Minitab, or NWA.
- Advanced knowledge of Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma, and gauge capability analysis.
- Strong technical writing and project management abilities.
- Ability to work various shifts as needed.
- Excellent oral and written communication and computer skills with Microsoft Office suite.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Experience with project/process improvement tools and committees.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly sits, stands, walks, and uses hands and arms to reach, lift up to 10 pounds, and may balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The work environment may involve moving mechanical parts, vehicular traffic, a range of temperatures, and loud noise levels.
