Amazon Data Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

• Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures.
• Directly support operational issues with ad‑hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including critical equipment, and event support.
• Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design‑solutions that add capacity, improve availability, increase efficiency, and sustainability.
• Interface with internal teams (data center operations, design engineering, server hardware, environmental health and safety) to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability.
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS’s data centers.
• Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
• Initiate and lead engineering audits including on‑site visits within Amazon’s data centers, produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations.
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, support construction, commissioning, and turnover.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering experience (data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities).
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
• Experience as resident engineer or hands‑on design consultant/owner’s engineer.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and applicable building codes.
• Ability to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment/mass production.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical equipment related to data centers (UPS, diesel generators, switch gear, PDU, VFD, transfer switches, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, fans, economizers, water treatment).
• Data analytics skills, data querying skills/language, scripting, and comfort working with large datasets.

The base salary range for this position is $–$ USD annually. Compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
