Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cold Room Automation Engineer to support the design, implementation, commissioning, qualification, validation, and day-to-day operation of cold chain systems within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career engineers to gain hands‑on experience with cold storage technologies, refrigeration systems, automation platforms, and pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
The selected candidate will work closely with Facilities & Engineering, Manufacturing, Packaging Operations, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, CSV, IT/OT, and external vendors to support the successful delivery and operation of reliable and compliant cold chain solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Support the design, installation, and maintenance of cold room and refrigeration systems used in manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse operations.
- Assist with commissioning, startup, qualification, validation, and operational readiness activities for cold room equipment and systems.
- Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and validation of automation and software systems supporting cold chain operations.
- Support Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) activities, including documentation and execution.
- Assist in developing and maintaining SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
- Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Packaging, CSV, and IT/OT teams to support compliance and system integration efforts.
- Monitor system performance and help identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of equipment, automation, and refrigeration-related issues.
- Work with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support project execution and operational goals.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to project planning and execution activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 0–3 years of experience (including internships, co‑ops, or academic projects) in manufacturing, automation, refrigeration, HVAC, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related industries.
- Basic understanding of industrial refrigeration, HVAC systems, automation technologies, or process equipment.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic engineering software tools.
- Eagerness to learn automation systems, cold chain technologies, and validation processes.
- Willingness to travel up to 20–30% as needed.
- Internship, co‑op, or project experience related to automation, controls, manufacturing, HVAC, refrigeration, or pharmaceutical operations.
- Exposure to PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial controls, or automated equipment.
- Basic understanding of GMP environments, validation, commissioning, or quality systems.
- Familiarity with cold storage facilities, warehouse operations, or automated material handling systems is a plus.
