Senior Controls & Automation Engineer

A growing advanced manufacturing organization is seeking a hands‑on Senior Controls & Automation Engineer to design, program, and support the control systems, automation equipment, and OT/IT network infrastructure that keep production running. This role is ideal for someone who loves solving complex technical problems and thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment. This is a very hands on role.

• Design, program, and commission PLC‑based control systems (Allen‑Bradley preferred).
• Develop and maintain HMI applications (Factory Talk View, Ignition, or similar).
• Lead equipment integrations, controls upgrades, and commissioning activities.
• Troubleshoot automation issues and minimize downtime.
• Design and maintain OT network infrastructure (managed switches, VLANs, firewall segmentation).
• Build data pipelines from PLC/SCADA systems to historians and analytics tools.
• Support MES implementation and improve real‑time visibility.
• Maintain documentation, version control, and change management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on controls and automation experience.
• Experience with HMI development and industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, VLANs).
• Ability to manage projects independently from design through commissioning.

• Aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing experience.
• SCADA (Ignition), MES, or data historian experience.
• Motion control, robotics, or vision systems.
• Familiarity with NFPA 79, ISA standards, or OT cybersecurity frameworks.
