The Senior Structural Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Conroe, TX. This position is responsible for leading structural design and analysis for utility and construction projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing detailed structural calculations, reviewing drawings and specifications, and using computer-aided design tools to develop and refine designs. The Senior Structural Engineer collaborates with project managers, field teams, and partners to resolve technical issues, optimize designs for constructability and cost, and provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
The role also involves mentoring less experienced engineers, preparing technical documentation and reports, and supporting continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Strong foundation in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering, with experience in utility or related infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Structural Analysis and performing detailed engineering Calculations for steel, concrete, and other structural systems.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating, reviewing, and modifying structural drawings and models.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; advanced degree or professional registration (PE) is preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, utility industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Proven ability to lead projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and manage multiple priorities under demanding conditions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical reports and documentation.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement; prior experience in a field or construction environment is an advantage.
