We're looking for a Commissioning Engineer to play a key role in bringing complex automation projects to life for our clients. You'll be responsible for getting sophisticated automated systems up and running on-site, working closely with customer teams to ensure a smooth transition from installation to full operation. Our clients are typically well-established names in the food & beverage and pharmaceutical sectors, with facilities located throughout the United States.
Requirements- Technical experience installing/commissioning automated systems, ideally in the material handling/automation/robotics field.
- Strong working knowledge of electromechanical, robotic, and automated systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ideally Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, or Controls Engineering, is required.
- Willing and able to travel to project sites across the USA upto 75% of the time.
- Experience with PLC programming, VFD configuration, and/or conveyor systems.
- some experience with programming languages and command line terminals is preferred.
- Set up, configure, interface, and sometimes integrate the complete automated warehouse system with Warehouse Control Systems and customer IT systems.
- Complete the commissioning process (preparation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, Go Live, reporting and signoff).
- PLC software configuration and live testing.
- Work on electrical, mechanical, PLC configuration, communication protocols, sensors & instrumentation, and safety devices.
- Work at a variety of customer sites, including cold storage facilities and at heights (walking in racking at different levels, always with appropriate safety gear/measures).
- Act as a commissioning expert, supporting on-site and remote troubleshooting during commissioning, go-live, and when assisting service engineers during aftersales interventions.
- Create and deliver comprehensive reports and technical procedures upon project completion.
- Identify and solve technical challenges, providing recommendations for system optimization.
- Train integrators, customer maintenance staff, and operative staff.
- Share technical expertise with team members and participate in continuous training and skill development.
- Identify and report commercial service opportunities at current clients to management.
