Job Description

Assist with special events and parking enforcement as needed. Primary responsibilities are related to special events. The position includes weekend and weekday evening hours, so the candidate must have a flexible schedule that is adjusted every two weeks depending on the special event calendar. Schedule may change with event needs, and some overtime work is expected.

The following duties are customary for this position but are not exhaustive. Duties may be added, deleted, or reassigned based on management discretion and institutional needs:

  • Serve as an ambassador for campus when interacting with and assisting customers and the public.
  • Provide support in the field to the Special Events Manager in implementing large special event parking operations, including equipment management, field personnel training and supervision, data collection, traffic management, and cash handling.
  • Independently run smaller special event parking operations, particularly in the evenings or weekends.
  • Recommend improvements to parking operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enforce parking regulations.
  • Issue citations to vehicles parked in violation of parking regulations.
  • Immobilize and/or request tows for vehicles as warranted.
  • Assist with maintenance of parking lots.
  • Remove debris from parking lots and structures.
  • Replace aging, unreadable or missing signs.
  • Touch up faded paint in parking lots.
  • Perform minor repairs on parking equipment.
  • Escalate larger problems to the IT consultant in the department.
  • Conduct periodic space inventory surveys.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving history
  • Minimum 3 years in customer service or related experience involving direct interaction with the public
  • Must successfully complete departmental training program within 6 months of employment
Additional Information

Hourly Rate: $14.25
