Summary / Job OverviewThe Senior Internal Auditor provides independent assurance and consulting activity, analyzing risks, operations, and financial reliability to drive actions that improve the organization’s operations.
The role follows a hybrid schedule of 4 days in office.
Essential Functions- Perform risk-based audits, analyzing risk management, operations, financial reliability, and compliance with applicable directives and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures; examine records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.
- Identify gaps in internal controls and recommend risk mitigation measures and cost savings.
- Prepare audit work papers, including planning memos, risk assessment matrices, and conclusions on test work.
- Prepare and present reports reflecting business description, process flows, key controls, issues, root causes, and remediation.
- Ensure audit findings are discussed with management and tracked through remediation.
- Maintain effective relationships with business units and management.
- Monitor own performance to manage work requirements and budget.
- Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity and risk mitigation.
- Engage in continuous knowledge development on regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, performance standards, and the Institute of Internal Auditors’ IPPF.

Education and Experience- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- CPA, CIA, CISA or CRMA preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of audit‑related experience.
- Experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry preferred.
- Understanding of finance and operations internal controls, internal audit methodology, and SOX/MARSOX compliance requirements.
- Ability to apply critical thinking, process analysis, business intelligence, and problem-solving techniques.
- 10% domestic travel required.
Base pay range: $95,000–$130,000. Salary determined by experience, skills, certifications, and location.
