Diagnostic Medical Sonography Technology – Part‑Time Faculty Pool

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements- A bachelor’s degree in diagnostic medical sonography or a related area and recent experience as a registered sonographer.
- One or more of the following credentials: RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer), RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist), RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer).
- In‑depth knowledge of the subject area to be taught.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication in the language in which courses will be taught.
- Ability to communicate effectively with and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors, and staff.
- Belief in and concern for community service.
- High ethical and moral character.
- Proficiency with email.
- Willingness to teach in a variety of instructional delivery modes, including instructional technologies and online learning management systems.
- Commitment to diversity.
- Commitment to meeting students’ learning needs and empowering students in their learning endeavors.
- Personal and educational philosophy compatible with the goals, objectives, and mission of Central Ohio Technical College.
- Requires successful completion of a background check.
- A master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the subject area or a related field, or a master’s degree in education.
- Previous teaching experience and experience with curriculum development and assessment.
The part‑time faculty member is responsible for conducting and instructing courses associated with the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. This includes facilitating student learning by teaching undergraduate echocardiography courses, using active learning methods and a variety of instructional strategies designed to help students meet course objectives; assessing student learning; and providing academic assistance to students as needed.
