About Protera

Protera is a leader in digital transformation and cloud services, helping enterprises modernize, migrate, and manage their applications across public and hybrid cloud environments. We deliver scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure solutions that enable continuous innovation.

Position Overview

As a Public Cloud Engineer (Cloud Ops – Network Focus), you’ll play a key role in implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure and network environments across multiple platforms—AWS, Azure, GCP, and VMware. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of cloud workloads while supporting diverse network architectures for enterprise environments.

What You’ll Do

This role requires strong technical expertise in networking within public cloud ecosystems, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Cloud Infrastructure Support:
Manage, monitor, and optimize Protera’s customer environments across AWS, Azure, GCP, and VMware, ensuring stability and performance.
  • Network Operations & Support:
Design, configure, and maintain virtual networks, VPNs, routing tables, firewalls, load balancers, and interconnects between cloud and on-prem environments. Provide operational support for network connectivity issues, latency troubleshooting, and bandwidth optimization.
  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting:
Respond to escalations, diagnose performance or availability issues, and implement permanent fixes (RCA-driven). Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve incidents efficiently.
  • Monitoring & Uptime:
Use tools like Logic Monitor, Elastic Search, and native cloud monitoring to maintain proactive visibility across environments. Drive automation and alert tuning for improved service reliability.
  • Patch & Vulnerability Management:
Execute OS and firmware updates, coordinate security patching schedules, and support vulnerability remediation activities.
  • System Administration:
Manage both Windows and Linux/Unix environments including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, FTP, IIS, and Group Policy configurations.
  • On-Call & Global Operations:
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, ensuring timely response to incidents and maintaining global uptime commitments.

Soft Skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in high-availability environments.
