IT Business Analyst, Business Systems/ Tech Analyst, Data Analyst, IT Consultant
General Function
Identify and define systems and business line needs and requirements. Coordinate development and support for new and existing applications and products. Serve as the primary liaison between line of business, software vendors, and information technology. Partner with business units to develop a solid knowledge base of the business line, including the business plan, products, processes and revenue streams. Coordinate business requirements definition, development, system configuration, testing, defect identification and resolution, implementation and support for new and existing systems.
Identify, research and analyze production problems, develop solutions and coordinate resolutions. Possess a broad understanding of business systems and industry requirements. Oversee enhancements and projects to maintain productivity and efficiency. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, ensuring actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience.
- Serve as a liaison between IT, software vendors and the business line to analyze business and user needs, document requirements and resolve moderately complex system problems.
- Oversee enhancements to maintain productivity and efficiency.
- Guide and train less experienced analysts through project work.
- Manage multiple business line project lists and teams, overseeing projects/process, system configuration, testing and implementation while meeting all deadlines.
- Play a key role in planning, testing and implementing new products, system enhancements and conversions.
- Ensure system enhancements follow change‑management guidelines, meet or exceed user requirements and are completed on time.
- Lead research and resolution of system issues; partner with lines of business and technical areas to resolve problems.
- Work with users to define user, system and project requirements for new systems, products and enhancements.
- Identify system enhancements, document business needs and determine development impact on current processing.
- Collaborate with programmers and users to ensure process improvement/automation accuracy.
- Complete system configurations and resolve production problems.
- Review operational procedures and recommend changes for improvement, emphasizing automation and efficiency.
- Provide input into detailed project plans, work assignments and target dates.
- Set priority and determine complexity of problems and requests.
- Influence leaders and peers across lines to take action on strategic initiatives or process changes.
- Maintain manuals, standard business and status reports, training material and reference material.
- Perform aspects of project management including approval gathering, readiness assessments and other controls.
Skills and Abilities
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in banking, financial services or related fields.
- Minimum two (2) years of project management experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or PMP preferred.
- Proven leadership experience in Operations, Manufacturing or Quality.
- Broad understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
- Ability to present to senior leadership on sensitive matters.
- Ability to facilitate large groups toward common solutions.
- Exceptional verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to multi‑task, adapt to sudden changes and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Windows‑based software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio).
Total Base Pay Range: $71,100.00 - $ USD annually. The base salary reflects the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on role, relevant skill set, experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
