Summary The Pre‑Fund Insurance Analyst is a critical role responsible for reviewing and ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of mortgage insurance documentation and ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines. This insurance analyst is a member of a team of insurance professionals with extensive multifamily experience working in the commercial insurance industry. Strong experience in reviewing Property and Casualty insurance and a vast knowledge of commercial insurance coverage, including compliance reviews for Agency (Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and HUD) portfolios with risk assessment and insurance operations compliance.
The person filling this position will work directly with the Insurance Operations Manager, Insurance Coordinators and the Insurance Analysts on the Pre‑Fund team to maintain the integrity and adequacy of insurance coverage for the Agency lender loans.
- Perform well in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented environment; demonstrate problem‑solving skills.
- Manage multiple assignments; prioritize tasks; meet deadlines; coordinate and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ensure accuracy of data for compliance and manage data integrity from internal sources and external agents and borrowers.
- Identify and analyze insurance risk.
- Prepare and submit lender insurance waivers.
- Complete blanket insurance policy analysis.
- Complete internal checklists and insurance documentation, including engagement forms, Acord forms or policy copies, zoning reports, flood zone, property condition reports, blanket policies, coverages, and coverage deficiencies required in the pre‑closing review process.
- Act as an insurance subject‑matter expert, providing guidance and support regarding coverage, coverage deficiencies, waivers, and any other insurance‑related questions or issues to insurance coordinators, underwriting and production teams, closing and servicing departments, and senior management.
- Assist with special assigned projects.
- Work well with a team or independently.
- Participate in team meetings; complete required annual servicing training hours and compliance courses; attend lender meetings and insurance industry webinars.
- Undergraduate business degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years experience with insurance for commercial real estate.
- Relevant experience in real‑estate finance and loan servicing preferred.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, Adobe programs.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, coordinate and communicate effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
