Job Title – Police Patrol Officer / Constable

Must Have Skills:

  • OPOTA (Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy) certified or currently enrolled in an OPOTA academy
  • College Degree
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities and Job Details:

  • Patrol roadways and community areas to enforce traffic laws and prevent accidents
  • Conduct traffic stops, issue citations, and ensure compliance with Ohio Revised Code (ORC) regulations
  • Investigate misdemeanor and felony criminal incidents, including drug offenses, domestic violence, theft, and property crimes
  • Collect, preserve, and document evidence for court proceedings; complete detailed reports and case documentation
  • Interview witnesses and victims; locate and apprehend suspects, including those with outstanding warrants
  • Prepare cases for prosecution and testify in court regarding criminal and crash investigations
  • Perform crash investigations, document scenes, gather statements, and coordinate with EMS and outside agencies when needed
  • Provide assistance to motorists, including disabled vehicle support and roadway hazard mitigation
  • Participate in specialized or technical assignments such as DUI enforcement, crash investigation, evidence collection, K-9 handling, or school resource officer duties
  • Maintain operational readiness of patrol vehicles and law enforcement equipment
  • Enter and manage case data within department and state reporting systems
  • Perform related law enforcement duties as assigned by supervision
