$22.96 - $27.92 per hour

• Inspect motor vehicles – including motor homes, campers, school buses, church buses, self‑assembled vehicles, and salvage vehicles – to determine if they are safe and properly equipped per law.
• Enter and retrieve information from Ohio State Highway Patrol databases.
• Complete inspection forms and affix inspection decals to vehicles that pass.
• Operate the state-owned inspection vehicle to transport equipment.
• Notify the owner or operator of required repairs or adjustments to bring a vehicle into safe condition.

• Minimum of 6 months training or 6 months experience in automotive maintenance & repair or mechanical vehicle inspections.
• Minimum of 6 months experience using a personal computer and business office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Use of a computer/tablet is required; candidates must explain how they meet this requirement in their application.
• Formal education in arithmetic (addition & subtraction) and common English vocabulary reading, writing, and speaking.
