Buyer, Supply Chain​/Logistics

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for sourcing and procurement of goods. Purchases raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies for a group of products/functions. Develops supply sources by interviewing potential suppliers, visiting current vendors to improve relations and assessing supply facilities and negotiating price.

Ensures that the minimum level of inventory for the allocated commodities are maintained without jeopardizing the continuity of scheduled production within the customer release schedules. Participates as a strategic liaison with the relevant suppliers to ensure raw material requirements are satisfied. (

Experience:

1-5 years)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field preferred or equivalent experience
• SAP experience preferred

• Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Operate standard office equipment preferred
• Must have excellent reading, writing, and spelling skills.
• Ability to read and understand legal contracts
• Ability to read component prints and drawings
• Must have ability to perform true cost analysis, make vs. buy analysis
• Understand logistics impacts, etc.
