Project Director

Our client, one of the leading engineering and construction innovators in the global energy sector, are looking to recruit a Project Director for their fast power, major projects team.

The Project Director provides leadership and accountability for the successful delivery of large-scale, complex energy infrastructure projects, typically exceeding $500M. This role oversees all phases of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) execution for boiler systems, steam generation equipment, and integrated energy solutions supporting fast-deploy power for data center applications.

The Project Director ensures alignment with strategic business objectives while driving safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance. This role serves as the primary executive interface with customers, joint venture partners, and internal leadership, providing direction across multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring successful project outcomes in highly complex environments.

• Leads overall execution and delivery of major capital EPC projects (> $500M), ensuring alignment with business strategy, contractual obligations, and financial targets.
• Directs cross-functional project teams including engineering, construction, supply chain, quality, and project controls to ensure integrated execution and delivery excellence.
• Establishes and governs project execution strategy, including schedule, cost, risk, and commercial management frameworks, and ensures adherence throughout the lifecycle.
• Provides executive oversight of technical delivery for boiler systems, steam generation equipment, and associated energy process systems, ensuring compliance with applicable industry codes and standards.
• Manages high-level customer relationships, serving as the executive point of contact for escalation, negotiations, and strategic alignment.
• Oversees contract management and commercial performance, including risk mitigation, change management, and dispute resolution across complex EPC structures.
• Champions a strong safety and quality culture, ensuring implementation of robust project assurance programs, audits, and compliance activities.
• Supports business development activities, including input to proposals, RFP responses, and project positioning for future work.
• Degree in relevant engineering or construction discipline (i.e. mechanical engineering or construction management.
• Knowledge of steam turbines, natural gas boilers, and general heavy industrial plant.
• 10+ years overseeing delivery of major projects with values above $500 million.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Awareness of safety culture and building safe working environments

Hybrid role, Ohio office with occasional site travel as required.
