GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Employee functions in an administrative capacity carrying out special projects as assigned by the Department Director. Also, under general direction of the Director, this employee directs, manages, supervises, and coordinates the activities and operations of the assigned Department. This employee will assist with key departmental functions, including coordinating assigned activities with other divisions, departments and outside agencies. Provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Director of the assigned department.
This also includes the duties and responsibilities list under the "City Engineer" that are referenced in the Ohio Revised Code and Cincinnati Municipal Code and as assigned by the Director.

This employee must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio.

- Principles of project management of capital improvement projects.
- Code of Ethics for Professional Engineers.
- Principles of developing operating and capital budgets.
- Safety principles and practices for employees.
- Public utility capital installation, operation and maintenance principles.
- Principles of developing and administering construction contracts, including negotiating change orders.
- Operate appropriate computer equipment; use properly all related hardware and software.
- Operate assigned vehicle in the course of duty.
- Implement and maintain positive employee relations.
- Promote and maintain highest integrity throughout all personnel.
- Analyze and manage effective EEO/AA programs.
- Develop and administer departmental goals, objectives and procedures, and assess programs, policies and operational needs and make appropriate adjustments.

- Identify and respond to sensitive organizational issues, concerns and needs.
- Plan, organize, direct and coordinate the work of lower-level staff.
