Production Supervisor – Bartech Staffing

Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract Production Supervisor. Hourly pay range: $30-$32/hour

Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Production Supervisor in Assembly, overseeing a team of represented hourly employees in daily vehicle manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure high‑quality vehicles are built and all non‑conformance issues are properly addressed.
  • Maintain daily employee timekeeping and payroll accuracy.
  • Drive throughput improvements and track efficiencies daily.
  • Manage departmental cost‑reduction initiatives, including scrap reduction.
  • Lead problem‑solving activities for production, quality, safety, and process issues.
  • Support people‑management activities, including employee relations, issue resolution, and timely grievance handling.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and maintain continuous communication (meetings, chats, daily touchpoints).
  • Lead a team of approximately 40‑60 employees, split across two departments.
  • Rotate between 1st and 2nd shift every six months with the team.
Shift Details
  • 1st Shift: 5:35 AM touchpoint; 6:00 AM‑2:30 PM (arrive by 5:30 AM)
  • 2nd Shift: 2:35 PM touchpoint; 3:00 PM‑11:30 PM (arrive by 2:30 PM)
Additional Requirements
  • On‑site role; no remote work.
  • Fit for Work physical required.
  • Overtime: ~5 hours/week, consistent.
  • Workers must follow designated call‑off procedures.
  • Attendance is critical; tardiness will be documented.
  • Must be able to work within union contractual guidelines.
Job Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree (4‑year degree not required).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience – automotive manufacturing preferred.
  • Local candidates only; must be able to meet an early morning start time.
  • Top 3 Must‑Have

    Skills:

    • Manufacturing experience, ideally automotive.
    • Experience working in a union environment.
    • Mechanical aptitude – ability to visually identify parts, bolts, studs, and how components fit together (no hands‑on tool use required).
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Strong problem‑solving and people‑leadership skills.
