POSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Knorr Production System Coordinator will lead the Knorr Production System (KPS) strategy for the facility. This position will monitor quantifiable process improvements across the business and execute lean principles at the manufacturing site in conjunction with other departments. The Coordinator will need to coach, mentor, and facilitate within the business to create a culture that embraces value stream mapping, waste elimination, standardized work, information flow, problem solving, strategy deployment and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIALDUTIES
- Leads the KPS strategy and tactical plan development for the Bowling Green site.
- Drives an understanding of waste and its cost at all levels of the organization.
- Works with team members to eliminate waste.
- Work with management to establish annual goals and objectives towards KPS maturity.
- Develops and maintain the necessary policies, records, documentation, procedures, and practices to effectively and efficiently achieve the objectives and commitments to the organization.
- Champions continuous improvement activities with a focus on measuring, analyzing, and improving KPIs.
- Coaches and mentors the Bowling Green team in the deployment of lean tools and methodologies.
- Leads the cross functional managers to drive business improvement through KPS deployment.
- Creates and fosters a team work atmosphere that encourages Kaizen activity and supports continuous improvement activity.
- Organizes employees to implement Kaizen and other improvement activities to ensure they are implemented in a reasonable time frame and tracks the progress and applicable documentation.
- Coordinates standard work activity making sure all processes that are in need of standard work and work rules have them.
- Collaborates globally with other KPS leaders to share best practices and lead standardization across all facilities.
- Supports and trains lean programs.
- Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies (ISO
14001). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or elevate appropriate action in regards to safety, health, and environmental concerns. - Understands current quality policies and procedures (IATF 16949). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or elevate appropriate action in regards to product quality.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- BA or BS Degree required in Engineering or a Business field is required.
- At least 3 years of related experience is required.
- Strong analytical, presentation, and interpersonal skills working across multiple locations, all management levels and functions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (value stream mapping, kaizen, 5s, Kanban, etc.)
- Ability to work well on own with strong planning and organization skills.
- Ability to meet tight, multiple deadlines and handle various projects and tasks.
- Strong bias for process improvement.
- Green Belt certification a plus.
- Strong systems and data management skills required.
- Proficiency in Excel and a major ERP system (e.g. Oracle, SAP, BAAN, QAD (MFP/Pro), SAGE)
- Proficiency in SAP a plus
- Proficient using Microsoft Office: (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).
