Job Description:
- The Operations Assistant supports day-to-day manufacturing and packaging operations by ensuring efficient production flow, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, assisting with line operations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Attend team meetings and ensure effective transfer of key information between shifts.
- Clean and sanitize equipment throughout the packaging and processing areas.
- Hand stack all bag sizes as required.
- Assist technicians with preparation and execution of line changeovers, including primary and ancillary equipment.
- Conduct product sampling and quality checks in a timely and effective manner.
- Assist with finished goods preparation and inspection, including top cap placement and checklist completion.
- Prepare end-of-shift reports including pallets produced and total production output.
- Manage rework and material movement activities.
- Monitor and support line operations during breaks and as needed.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, shoveling, and pushing.
- Identify and communicate production issues to appropriate personnel.
- Meet or exceed published safety standards.
- Remove and dispose of production line waste.
- Participate in cross-functional operational teams as assigned.
- Understand factory processes related to planning, sourcing, production, and delivery.
- Anticipate operational, technical, and workforce issues and take corrective action.
- Understand how operational activities impact overall factory costs.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency with computers, software, and data processing.
- Ability to manage materials and coordinate internal material transport.
- Knowledge of materials required for production processes.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to balance speed and quality in task execution.
- Continuous improvement mindset with ability to contribute to performance objectives.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and plant performance indicators.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Awareness of safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
