CNC Machinist, Manufacturing & Industrial Operations, Machine Operator
Looking for a solid shop where your setup skills are respected, and the work is steady? This is a hands‑on CNC lathe role in a busy, close‑tolerance machining environment. You’ll work with good equipment, do real setups, and help keep production moving for customers in automotive, ag, defense, and other industrial markets.
What You’ll Be Doing- Set up and run CNC lathes for production parts (repeat jobs and short runs).
- Do tool changes, touch‑offs, and offset adjustments to hold tight tolerances.
- Read blueprints and job travelers so parts are made right the first time.
- Run parts from Mastercam programs (editing is a plus, not a must).
- Check your own work using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Help out on other machines (including mills) when needed to keep jobs on schedule.
- Help solve basic problems with tooling, setup, and part quality.
- Keep your area clean, safe, and organized.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes in a production shop.
- Able to handle your own tool changes, touch‑offs, and offsets without constant supervision.
- Comfortable reading blueprints and basic GD&T.
- Know how to use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
- Some experience with Mastercam programs (you don’t have to be a programmer).
- Experience with different metals/alloys is a plus.
- Any CNC milling experience is a plus.
- Show up on time, pay attention to details, and take pride in quality work.
- Close‑tolerance CNC lathe setup experience.
- Background in automotive, agriculture, defense, heavy equipment, steel, or aluminum parts.
- Multi‑axis machining experience.
If you’re a CNC lathe machinist who likes doing real setups, making good parts, and being part of a solid team, we’d like to hear from you. Apply today with your resume or work history.
