Hours:

Sunday‑Thursday 11:00PM‑7:30AM. Please note, flexibility in schedule will be required based on business needs, this can include working different hours or days.

Location:

This position is located onsite at our facility in Columbus, OH. There is no option for remote or hybrid work.

This role is in support of American Health Packaging, a Cencora business offering pharma packaging services in the US. Under moderate supervision of the Director of Operations, this role is responsible for meeting Quality and Operational goals and directing, leading and mentoring Production Operators. The incumbent will be the most senior member of management after hours and will have responsibility for operations, safety and security of the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate, and government regulatory requirements.
  • Observe all safety rules. Report any condition that is hazardous or unsafe to your supervisor immediately.
  • Develop teamwork among all Production and Quality Associates focused on Safety and Quality.
  • Create an environment of inclusion and engagement.
  • Direct, lead, train and mentor Production and Quality associates on an assigned shift.
  • Ensure that daily quality and manufacturing targets are met.
  • Oversee Production and Quality activities in each packaging room, coordinating with Packaging Lead Technicians to direct manufacturing activities and maintain a regular visible presence on the floor.
  • Oversee continuous improvement activities on assigned shift to promote efficiency and effectiveness of the production line, including oversight of lean activities and 5S activities.
  • Provide direction to Production Mechanics and ensure all associates follow cGMP and safety procedures.
  • Assure all associates follow all company SOPs and policies.
  • Trap and repair packaging equipment when necessary.
  • Assist in performance management review programs.
  • Assist with set up, packaging duties and Quality checks before, during and after packaging runs.
  • Perform various record‑keeping activities including batch records and shift reports.
  • Inspect and release quarantined packaging material or rejects.
  • Inspect finished drug product and verify reconciliation of labels and inserts.
  • Review batch record for completion and proper documentation. Edit batch records and compile constructive narrative information pertaining to batch production.
  • Assist in writing/revising and maintaining task, department, and general SOPs.
  • Work various shifts, hours and weekends.
  • Perform on‑the‑job quality and manufacturing training.
  • Review and approve associates' time and attendance for payroll; approve/deny time‑off requests to maintain staffing for safe and quality production.
  • Coordinate shift staffing with Director of Manufacturing, Director of Quality Systems and Director‑Operations.
  • Complete accident/incident reports and conduct investigations. Participate in follow‑up meetings and CAPA.
  • Provide backup coverage for QA Manager when needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree with at least three (3) years of experience in the field or equivalent combination of experience and education, with a minimum of 1 year experience leading and directing the work of others.
  • Experience:

    Manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures, and excellent knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical production and quality concepts and procedures.
  • Skills and Abilities:
