CNC Lathe Setup​/Lead Operator - KD

Job Description

A manufacturing company is seeking a CNC Lathe Setup/Lead who will be responsible for efficiently setting up, managing direct reports, running production CNC machines, maintaining good quality product, and reporting issues to their supervisor. You will work Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Job Duties:

• Run and manage production in the CNC Lathe Department, set up new jobs, and assist operators with quality and performance
• Train new employees as needed
• Gather paperwork and work with scheduling to maintain schedule integrity
• Ensure that operators in department are maintaining good quality products and report issues to the Production Supervisor and Engineering
• Leave machine in good working condition with new tooling, good coolant level, etc., make tool offsets and changes to tooling when needed, and inspect products properly
• Keep the machine area clean, including floor, machine, and workstation
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED;
  Vocational school training on electrical principles and troubleshooting
• Must have at least 5 years' experience in light industry, the machine tool industry, and using production machines
• The ability to make good decisions on which materials to use, how to solve the problem, and if outside help is needed
• Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment and handle multi-tasking
• Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret company documents
